What is Umingle?
Umingle (umingle.com) is a web based random chat site that pairs you with a stranger over text or video. It runs in the browser, and you can add interests to find people who like the same things. That simple setup is why many people landed there after the older random chat sites faded out.
Thuksa is a different, independent site built around one-to-one random video chat. This page explains how the two compare so you can pick the one that fits what you want from an Umingle video chat.
Why people look for an Umingle alternative
One random chat site is rarely enough. Sometimes it is busy, sometimes the matches feel stale, and sometimes the rules get in the way. These are the reasons we hear most:
- Paid skips. On Umingle, skipping to the next match requires payment, which breaks the flow when you just want to find a good conversation.
- A country based queue. Matching is limited to a queue based on country, so the pool can feel small or repetitive.
- Ban and payment reports. Some users report unexpected bans followed by prompts to pay. Those are individual experiences, but they are frustrating when you only want to chat.
- Wanting an app. Some people would rather tap an icon than open a browser tab every time.
If any of that sounds familiar, an Umingle alternative like Thuksa is worth a try.

- Keep your full name, address, school and passwords to yourself.
- Do not click strange links or move the chat to other apps right away.
- Never share financial details, and never send money to someone you just met.
- If someone makes you uncomfortable, skip them straight away and report them.
